Real-time Monitoring
Real-time monitoring of vehicles as they move from place to place, halt for re-fueling and other stops is among the biggest advantages of GPS vehicle tracking. Speed checks of vehicles, accurate location, refreshment breaks and other stops by drivers can be tracked as they occur.
Planning
GPS vehicle tracking helps fleet management and freight management companies to better manage fleet vehicles, operations, monitor driver schedules and fueling halts between destinations. Better planning results in maintaining timed schedules and billing of customers accurately.
Keeping Customers Updated
Customers using fleet management company vehicles to transport goods, products and perishable items can be updated about scheduled movement of vehicles, approximate arrival times at final destinations and, delays, if any.
Addressing Crisis Scenarios
In case of natural calamities, accidents, theft of vehicles and other crisis scenarios, fleet management company headquarters can appraise situations, inform police cruisers and take related decisions or calls on movement or stalling of vehicles.
Fuel and Labor Cost Savings
Companies operating vehicles with GPS-deployed technologies can streamline labor and fuel costs through better management of fleet drivers, changeover schedules, workforce mobility and route management.

Teen Tracking is Growing in Popularity
More and more parents are making the investment in the GoTrack EZ unit to give them peace of mind when they hand over the car keys to their teen drivers. By having the ability to monitor not only where your teen...

...drivers. By having the ability to monitor not only where your teen is going every minute, how long they have been stopped and how fast they drove, parents know that they can rest assured that there teen is driving responsibly.
The GoTrack application allows parents to set up parameters such as email alerts for vehicle movement, speeding and locations. This can be really handy to let parents know immediately by email alert to a cell phone or computer when their teen has arrived at school. Or maybe an alert if the vehicle is moved after allowed driving hours, or during normal school hours. Parents can get alerts for their teen leaving a set location or "geofence". There really is no limit to how flexible the GoTrack system is and by using alerts, parents can keep tabs on their teen drivers 24/7 without sitting in front of a computer screen.
"Of course, our application works great on the Apple iPhone and that really puts control in parents hands", states Todd Hastie, Director of Sales at GoTrack. "We are all parents too here at GoTrack and while we don't want to make our kids feel like we don't trust them...the first few years of driving a vehicle are just too crucial to leave it totally to their judgement.
With no long term contracts, plug-in installation and a $199 price, most parents think this is a "no-brainer" when it comes to the safety and security of always knowing where their teen driver is, and where they have been. The GoTrack EZ unit can also be moved from one car to the next by simply unplugging it and plugging it into the new car.

Maintenance alerts can be triggered by both mileage and time, so users can set the system up for an alert to "change the oil" at either 3 months or 3000 miles for example.
"This new feature just enhances the existing application for our customers", states Todd Hastie, National Director of Sales. "We are always looking to add features that give our customers extra value, and of course, this feature will be available to all GoTrack customers at no extra cost."
"The Maintenance feature was requested by some of our commercial fleet customers that have to keep track of multiple maintenance parameters on an entire fleet of vehicles", states Hastie. "Some of these fleets are large enough to experience several maintenance alerts each day and that is when this feature really comes in handy."

OLATHE, Kan. -- Olathe residents can now track the city's snowplows in real-time using a new website, the city announced Thursday.
The city's snowplows send information to the mapping system once-per-minute, which shows the user where in the city the snowplow is located.
In addition to tracking snowplows in real-time, users can also check the plows progress over the pasts 13 and 24 hours.
"The City Council believes we should do everything possible to ensure residents know how their money is being used," Mayor Michael Copeland said in a news release Thursday. "This is one more important tool to aid in that transparency and enhance our customer service efforts," Copeland said.
